About us
In the 1950s, travelers began arriving at our farm, asking if they could spend the night in the barn or set up a tent in the field. That was the beginning of Gjeilo Camping. As the years went by, the campsite was moved from the farm itself down toward the riverbanks.
Today, we offer 10 cabins, a service building, and a reception, in addition to plenty of space for tents, motorhomes, and caravans. Gjeilo Camping is currently owned by Frøya Gjeilo – it was her great-grandchildren's founders (great-grandparents) who started it all! She is joined by her entire family in running the site.
